Well here we are and it’s almost 2010, the oughties nearly done.  Despite external commotion 2009 was pleasant enough with the Byrne family.  The only news on the health front is of Frank’s sister Celine’s conquest over leukemia.  The rally of support at her fundraiser in July and ongoing emotional and spiritual support all year was humbling and inspiring.

Anika, tallest in her class by far, enjoys all things artful and has shown great interest, and some aptitude, in the piano.  Gussie played her first school concert, first chair violin, can be found with her nose in a book nearly always and is a girl scout.  Conor’s current passion is Broadway and other musicals, which may explain how the above photo looks like it came out of a playbill.  He volunteers at the Humane Society where he socializes cats on Thursdays.

Minda the ever-passionate educator is in her 12^th year at Nicolet and 23^rd as a teacher.  With 7, 10, and 12 year-olds the topic of retirement hasn’t even gotten into the conversational kitchen, let alone onto the back burner.  Frank still puts in time generating leads for Sternberg Lighting while slowly developing his freelance copywriting business and volunteers for the Concord Chamber Orchestra serving his second year as President of the Board of Directors.   

We had 15 of the Byrne Clan over for Christmas on December 19^th the first away from Cuba City in many years. 

We muddled through 2009 unscathed and in tact and as the years keep accumulating, at an accelerating pace it seems, that alone is cause enough for celebration and gratitude.  That we have each other, family, and friends like you trebles the blessings and then some.
